How to get the lines of a reference on to my mesh

I have seen this video:
He uses Maya and not blender. At minute 03:00 he suddenly got the color and lines from his reference on to his mesh. How can I do this in Blender?

he is creating UVs and projecting the texture onto the mesh. You can do that by switching to the UV workspace and unwrapping your mesh. Look up UV unwrapping on youtube
