How to increase spacing between objects the same amount

I made 3d mesh letters (not text object, and each separate object), and aligned them nicely along axes to make up a word. But now I want to increase spacing evenly between each letter. How to do that? So basically I am asking how to increase spacing between multiple aligned objects evenly. Of course I don’t want scaling of each letter to change. The letters sizes should remain the same.

Make a line with geometry nodes.

Convert to points of same number as yr text object amount.

Instance each object onto it.

Hope that helps.

If it’s just a one-time thing, you can toggle “affect only locations” in tool options, and use the scale operator.

Its a bummer that theres no “set location” for gn TOOLS in obj mode

when i did this, the scale didnt work not sure why

No that should work and its indeed the simplest way to achieve what you want. Make sure that it are separate objects and that you are in object mode. Turn on “Affect only Location”. Select all your letter objects. Then use the scale tool to scale.

Where are your object origins ? it can’t work if the origins are in the same place
