How to lift Blender up in B2B world?

Just thinking out loud for my next project:

Some might now me for reviewing addons for Blender on it’s dedicated site.
The site is successful enough and it’s mainly for the Blender community, for the users.

I started a another website because I want to go a step further: a contribution to bring Blender into the Business to Business world. The audience is very different since most of them haven’t even got a clue what Blender is. So I keep the word Blender a bit a the background.

My first idea was to promote my own services, but I am not to sure if that is a good idea. There are already so many services that it’s like you are 1 radio station out of million that wan’t to be heard. Most likely it won’t get a chance. It’s a bit sad, because with Blender you can make much more interesting stuff than those 2D videoexplainers. The B2B world is not yet ready because it’s seems to lag behind.

Now, instead of providing my own services that will bring me maybe just 100 visitors a month probably (who is interested in my services), I thought why not doing something for the community (again). This time not with addons, but a website where you can offer your services for example. This because I think in order to reach a goal, collaboration and a lot of engagement is needed.

What do you think what I can do with a website to help people like you enter the B2B world?

I don’t know, just an idea: There could be a (huge) list of people who offer services: riggers, skinners, lighting artist, render specialist, animators, grease pencil artists, etc. (Maybe that should be a bit at the background, or even internal). Then there will be coordination for: Marketing, division of labor, etc.

What do you think of it? Any idea’s how I could contribute with a website?

So, here it is, but it’s a work in progress. What I hope is that I can help a few to shift away from a 9 till 5 environment and follow a passion: Creation, Blender.

That’s a great idea.
There is a Topic called Job on this site, but I’m not sure if it’s reliable.
I think it would be better to delete the Topic Job and go to your idea of a b2b web.
Or ask the official site to publish a link to your b2b-specific web.

There’s a helpful site in Japan: https://crowdworks.jp/public/jobs/category/52
This is a site that allows you to work from home, but there’s one thing you can emulate.
The site has separate menus for job seekers and job orders.
A site built on this is easy to read and supportive at the same time.

I’m sorry. That’s about all I know. I’m sorry I can’t help you.
But I’m looking for that b2b web.

I haven’t heard of any Blender jobs in Japan (around me). I don’t think there are many of them in Japan.
The only thing I can think of is making and selling VR character models and selling tools and plug-ins on Gumroad.

Studio Khara has created Evangelion in Blender, and it’s been featured in Japanese tutorials, videos, and magazines.
It hasn’t led to ordering or providing work. (mostly Maya or 3dsmax)
I think it’s need change.
I hope to be able to order or get work from that web.

Hi @anon79049660

I checked the site, and while I am not that good in Japanese I think it has a kind of business model like fiverr, could that be?

And with the Topic Job on this site, you mean this one?: https://blenderartists.org/c/jobs/14
Yes, Maybe I could post there about it but I think Blender Artists should keep that as well. I think they have to keep it the way as it is because of the framework of this forum (disclosure, or what is the name).

You say Blender jobs, but the end user, the customer don’t need to know what programs are used, right? I think that most important for the customer is to see good examples (which we, blender-users, can do much better, or different, than many other design companies who use the classic programs) and see an imprint (reliable business, contact, registration, policies, etc).

Strange that Evangelion hasn’t led to orders or work. Maybe it’s that I have another audience in mind: nowadays smaller and bigger business need to do video-marketing, or do marketing with digital media. If you ask me, blender-users are perfect for that: no high costs in expensive programs, and with the right combination of people you can produce awesome work. I see a lot of those 2D video-explainers, and I think we can do much more interesting things than that, not?

I had quite some registrations already which is a sign. Some have a big portfolio already, some others showed interest in the project. At the moment I brainstorm about what business model to use and what direction to go. At the moment I have not an idea yet, it could go any direction.
