how to link .blend files in GE?

Ok im sorry to have made so many threads in so little time but this seems really important.

Ok im a novie blender user, i mean ive only been using it for about 6 or 7 months and ive only been dealing with the game engine for about only a month and a half.

I took a look a yofrankie.org where they made that really kick @ss game in the blender GE. Naturally when I looked at the examples and such i understood only about /100th of the explanation.

But one thing i did get is that apparently the characters were diffent .blend files like the main character, and they were loaded onto the game level, or something along those lines.

so theres the question, how do i do that? is there python involved? or can this be achived using logic bricks?

Do you mean in realtime, or when editing a blend file? For the second one, use append or link on the file menu.

File->Append or Link->…and then you choose the .blend you wnat to link to the current(and press “link” button before that).

Linking blends is the last thing you should do in you project.

well what about for meshes that have armatures parented to them? i cant bring in the object and still have it parented, id have to re alin it PERFECTLY to get the animations right again!

and yes i do mean at runtime. I do know about the append link option as well, its just that i have that problem with the armatures and the parenting…
