Hi guys,
i found an easy and Generic way to produce Lightnings.
Step 1
Open up Blender
Step 2
Select the Default Cube and go in edit mode.
Step 3
Now delete all vertexes except one.
Step 4
Transform geometry to origin.
Step 5
Go in Object mode and create an Empty.
Step 6
Parent the one vertex Object to the Empty
Step 7
Take the Empty Set Location Keyframes to Points where you want the Lightning and when you want there a Lightning.
Mine was Frame 1 and Frame 12.
Step 8
Select the one vertex object an add a particle system.
Now you have different options.
Step 9 a
If you want a continues Lightning from one point to an other you should set the
start and end to the shown part, and the Amount something about 100000.
Step 9 b
If you want a Single Lightning from one point to an other you should set the
start and end to the start and end keyframes from Step 7, and the Amount something about 10000.
Step 10
Set Forcefield weight gravity to 0
Step 11
add an Halo material and set the size to 0.090 or on closeups 0.020
Now the magic part:
Step 12
Go into the Graph editor, press N
and chose the graph from the empty.
Step 13
set all Curves to Linear.
Step 14 a
select the x Location Graph add a Cycles modifier.
Step 15
add a Noise Modifier.
Step 16
Adjust the settings.
I toke:
Scale 1.365
Strength 1.56
Depth 25
That settings was fine for me.
Step 17
Copy the Modifier to the Y and Z Location Graph.
Step 18
Change the settings from the Phase in the noise modifier to bring in individuality.
Step 19
Have fun and Adjust the settings to the point where you like it.
I hope my English is readable and the steps clear.
The Blend file is in the attachments.
Maybe i add screenshots later.
