How to make a text bubble in a night scene?

(IngieBee) #1

I was wondering if anyone ever did “comic” style pics, with a text bubble in their scene? I’m finding it hard to do, especially in night time scenes where you really don’t want the light to effect the scene, but want it to shine on the bubble. Can light be set to effect only one object? Yipes, I bet that’s written down somewhere… oh well, I’ll ask anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks, Ingie

Lights only effect objects on the same layer. And materials set to ‘Shadeless’ don’t need lights.

Couldn’t you just play with Emit on the bubble material? No light needed.

Details details, it’s always the details
Any way if you set the material to ‘Shadeless’ it doesn’t matter. 8)

I think it works that way (no need to press the button) for gameBlender, so maybe that’s made you forgot.

And yes, shadeless would be the best way here (IMHO).

Lights only effect objects on the same layers. It can be on more than one layer.
