How to make certain animation frames last longer...without rendering them.

Hi,

I have an animation with moving characters( a tutorial video ), which at some frames contains explaining text in
addition to visuals.

Is there a way to give users time to read the text( make that frame last 5-10 seconds ) without rendering the same frame over and over hundred times ?.

After text frame has passed, other frames would animate normally again( until next text frame )

Use the VSE. Make an image of the text you want read. Cut your movie where you want to insert the text. Add your image as a strip to the end of the first movie cut strip where you want to insert your text. Move the strip handle on the image strip to where you have enough time for reading. Then, put your remaining cut strip on the end of the text strip and then re-render the movie with just the VSE (turn off the compositor if you don’t need it). It will render real fast that way.
