So I make a font, then I extrude to give it some depth. I’d like to extrude just the edges of the front face, does this require I be pretty proficient with modeling or is there some simple technique I could apply to achieve such an effect?
try this. http://www.softplatz.com/Soft/Graphics/Animation-Tools/GentleDraw.html it’s an app i got awhile back in an issue of 3D world magazine, and it works pretty good. I am not sure what kind of limitations the trial version has, but the version I got had no trouble exporting.
thanks, I’ll take a look at that
in the font object data panel disable back and front, and play with bevel depth.
if this is the effect your looking for you have to duplicate the font object.
wow, I didn’t know blender could do that. Is that new in 2.5, or have I been missing it all along?
it can be done in 2.4x also, basically is 2 font objects, one normal and one with front and back disable.
just parent the two and be careful when changing the text change it in both objects.
here an ex.
