Can anyone confirm that I need to set the ‘Initial Velocity’ parameter in the ‘Normal’ row to 0.333 to get an approximation of my parent object’s size? It totally counterintuitive but it seems to be the only way to kind of get them the same size (albeit with rounding errors).
ummm… i’m afraid i wouldn’t be able to help with regards to blender 2.46… i would seriously recommend upgrading… but the initial velocity is the speed and direction that the particle should start with, it shouldn’t have anything to do with the size… unless you’re using hair, but in that case you should still use the normal value…
not sure about 2.46 (upgrade) but in the latest builds go down to the physics panel and adjust the size
I agree it’s counter-intuitive, the default should be 1:1
