How to make rigid body particles invisible until collision

I have a sequence in my mind, where a jar fills up with coins. Doing this with rigid body sims would mean that I’ll have to make the coins fall from above. I’m wondering if there’s a way to make these falling coins invisible until they collide and settle inside the jar. If yes, how do I go about it, or if not, how else could I achieve it?

You could fill the jar and let them vanish on collsision with an hidden object moving down,
and revert the seq.
