may i ask why you wish to use material rather than a texture? making a material like that will take a very long time, its not simple. unless you or anyone else finds one online i believe you are out of luck. mind you for a proper material as such you need a color map, bump map, and spec map in order for it to look properly, and to generate that with a material in blender will require a ton of work.
Because Textures often don’t have a real look. Even if i added a bump texture or a displacement, it would still look bad. Plus the specific type of image texture I’m looking for is nowhere on the internet.
wrong, that has more to do with lighting. texture is the way to go. Material however is what will end up looking “wrong” in this case. think of it this way, use texture with anything that contains details, if its a smooth surface, with a uniform color, then you may use a material. such as metals, plastics, carpaint, paper, etc.
If the image texture doesn’t exist, get some texture generation software. It will be far better, flexible, faster, and easy to control than whatever we could achieve here. Setting up the texture, generate three or four subtle variations of it which you can then blend together using some easy builtin noise or whatever (to remove some of that repetitive texture look).
