How to make this watchmaking texture "Cote de Geneve"

Hello,

I am working on a mecanical watch and I have to reproduce some texture but I can’t figure out how to make a texture like the image below.

Do you have any ideas? Thank you!

Which texture specifically are you referring to? The parallel grooves? The bumpy metal? The very thin parallel lines on the brushed metal you can see around the edges?

Also, welcome to BA

Sorry I misplaced the correct element with my image.

Yes the parallel grooves with thin line.

Very cool  That’s super easy to do with a wave texture:

If you want actual displacement, you’ll need to render that plane into an image, and then use that image as a displacement map:

I’m too lazy to actually make that look good, but you get the idea

Thank you for your reponse. :slightly_smiling_face:

I will test your solution

I had done this before, is it right?

Hello guys.

I tried different solution to make this texture without success.

Can you help me ? Thank you !

This is my previous try.

Yo idk if you still need this, but I’m making a watch movement and ended up making this.

I’m not sure if this is the most optimal way to make this pattern, but this was good enough for me. So hopefully someone finds it useful.

Hi @Dylan_CH

Fantastic work on that texture, would like to try a similar one but circular. Is your texture node based on Her5hee’s one ?

Cheers

Hi! Do you still have this material? The link you provided doesn’t work anymore. Would love to use this in my projects! Thank you!
