I want to know how I can model Sonic the Hedgehog or Hector from Castlevania Curse of Darkness:confused:
You should go to Blender3d.org, and read all the documentation first, try some of their tutorials, and once you feel comfortable with the mesh modeling, ask again.
Iām pretty knew myself but, your approach is like someone who has never heard electronics or used any, asking someone to show him how to make a computer.
It will take you about a week to get the general idea on how to make em, if you read what is there.
Hope that helpsā¦ Good luck.

This is advice Iām considering following. Iām a big fan of the Castlevania games - including the 3D versions of the series. Iāve already got some action figures for four of the Castlevania characters, and that would be a great way for me to model some of the characters.
We donāt help noobs who donāt help themselves.
Itās still possible to need advice on how to help yourself, though. This sounds like a cover to the more general question of āwhere do I start if I want to model something in 3d?ā.
Which is a decent question, and I second 2disbetterās response to it. Find some tutorials, learn how to use Blender, report back if you have difficulties with it.

Back on topic, if youāve never used 3d software before consider following some advice I gave someone else:
Having started with characters myself years ago, I can tell you I would have had a much easier time if I had done some environmental modelling first. Try some basic furniture, then move to more designed objects like, say clocks and lamps, then try some slightly more complex hard-surface modelling with something like a bicycle (donāt try a car. cars are hard.). Donāt use subsurf, just basic polymodelling and whatever other modifiers you want. When youāre done, go on to scifi hard surface subsurf modelling with vehicles and such. Scifi stuff is good because it teaches you topology and unwrapping, but is basically freeform, with no particular shape you need to conform to. When you feel confident with that, then start an organic character with subsurf, not multires. You will probably fail. Try again until youāre satisfied. When youāre comfortable with subsurfed characters, then and only then apply a multires and get out your sculpt tools. Donāt go the sculpt-from-a-cube route. Itās a nice shortcut, but ultimately leads to bad topology, bad unwrapping, bad skinning and bad texturing.
I realize that Aedion. Thatās why I usually attempt at making models first. If I have problems with what Iām doing, then I ask. Iād rather no one does my homework for me. Besides - if someone else does the work for me, whereās the fun in learning Blender?
And I try not be a ātrollā either, if you know what I mean. After all, this forum is for learning. Thereās no place for sarcasm here.
We also donāt scare off noobs by behaving like /self-censored/.
Scare off a noob with no skill, big whoop. Thereās 5 billion other noobs with no skill out there.
- How many years do you have?
Its a begginer tip:
To begin do you will need 2 pictures ā¦ one front and another whit side of sonic.
- Try put the images in blender windows, its a reference.
*See in āyoutubeā for Keywords : Put images+blender. - Whith a cube use extrude, its a shortcut E, in blender. And try make Extrude Faces, its a very simple.
*See in āyoutubeā for Keywords : How extrude+blender.
And finally model cube and use a Modifiers -> Subdivison Surface ā¦ this will make the model sharp and organic.
In my honest opinion, stay away from pain users and suffers, and same kind of users.
Generally normal people have āpayā to get this kind os stuff , believe its pure waste of time.
Learn its very easy ā¦ just try look in āyoutubevideosā, had a lot of shotcuts, and maibe you need a ācheatā whit all comands and shotcuts.
Blender works whit keyboard and mouse together.
Im a south american user and not a north american user.
Cheers.
Sry poor english
Itās not your poor English thatās at faultā¦
Try be good.
Try fix-It.
Its good for this forum, its good for community health. And finally its good for new users and good for blender publicity and good for readers. :).
Blender its easy and fast to modeling.
But for a young kid whith 8 years old age, maibe its a more difficult.
Ex : Im beggin in internet yesterday, its another case, so ā¦
Im my opinion just try help, and fix some tips, wondering about this kind of ācaseā its pure wast of time.
Cheers. And good modeling.
Iām still a bit āwet around the gillsā when it comes to using reference images. But Iām willing to learn.
As for using front and side views of a character, that sounds pretty easy. Thatās something I have not yet tried, and Iām wanting to try it. Sounds like a challenge, and I love challenges!
Moderation:
@Aedion: please stop this kind of posts. They do not contain any helpful information and you started to offence other users. We do not want that in these forums.
Please keep in mind you asked for help too. It would be nice if you could show that you can provide valuable help with mature writing style.
Thanks

Mature writing style? Are you insulting the guy who could barely write English?
A personās English writing skills have very little to do with their ability to phrase a mature thought. Please take Monsterās request seriously; he is right on point.
Did you notice that this thread was started 5 years ago?
ā¦ No. No, we didnāt.
/me facepalms
I didnāt notice it until a few days after I posted. Just that Iām looking forward to recreating Castlevania characters in Blender and other 3D programs in the future, and this post caught my attention. I have both āCurse of Darknessā and āLament of Innocenceā for the Playstation 2. I have yet to beat Curse of Darkness, but Iāve beat Lament of Innocence already (Lament of Innocence was the first of the two Castlevania PS2 games).
