I’m trying to move mesh around the curved sphere, but when I move it around using the G (grab) the selected faces (mesh) is not sliding along the faces of the sphere, so as you can see its distorting the faces. Is there a way I can move faces on a curved surface so it doesn’t poke out?

Really, the best way to do this would be with booleans.
if I use Boolean and my teacher sees this, its not a good feedback for me, as we all know, Booleans make a mess of a clean topology, so I’m seeking a clean and correct alternative.
