How to pass Cloth simulation animation to bones ?

I have an issue. Our game model format is pure skeletal. It doesn’t support vertex animation. I need to have a flag or another cloth animation in the game.
Is there a way to rig a flag, simulate animation with either softbodies or cloth and pass it on to the rig? If it’s possible, I would be able to export it into skeletal model format and still have realistic animation.

I am sorry i dont know how to do that but I would try posting this in one of the support forums.

Getting the complex folds in cloth (the way a cloth modifier does it) would be an extremely complex rig if you could do it.

I’d love to see any solution for this if it is out there.

But if it were me, I’d make a rig and just animate the flag, knowing that in this situation it can not be complex.
