I’m a moderately skilled 3D’er from a now obsolete 3D software program. To get back in the game I’ve focused in on Blender and, though the learning curve is steep, I’m finally starting to come up to speed with Blender and loving it.
I have a question:
Is there a way to force the camera to render the “Camera View” window, exactly as it is, if it has been rotated to a different view then “through the camera”?
Further explanation:
The “Camera View” window shows what the camera is looking at, but say that by using the “zoom” tool I zoom in on a small corner of my scene. Now the camera has not moved, but I want to render exactly what I see now in that window. Can the Camera be forced to render the scene using this new scene position? I ask this because it seems quite tedious to move the camera around, painfully tweeking the rotation and 3D space position to match what I want, while it seems a snap to just rotate and zoom the view to exactly what I want. Is it possible to just compose the view and hit render, and get that view?
Yes, that’s exactly what I needed to know. I was hoping there was a setting to make that happen automagically without having to go through those menus, but it still a lot better then what I was doing before!
Pixels3D - It was a great program for Mac’s only. They “improved” the original interface, which was absolutely perfect for an artists workflow, into an interface that required a degree in Engineering, Physics and Calculus. It became unusable for me and I let it fade out of my life.
If your interested, I still have some of my stuff here:
Well I am a student and a complete Newbie to Blender, but this is what I use to align my camera.
Go to Object Mode. SpaceBar -> Add -> Empty
Select the Camera first and then select the Empty. Press Ctrl+T and select track to Constraint.
So I move the empty around to the required position and the camera faces it as required. Yes sometimes I have to change the location of the camera to a better viewing angle.
