How to reconnect broken bones?

The connection between two of my bones seems to have gotten broken somehow. I’m confident I created the hip bone by extruding it out from the base of the spine, but apparently they’re not connected anymore for some reason (this is my first time rigging in blender, assume I know nothing).

How do I force them back together? (Note: this is not with rigify, I’m following a tutorial series on youtube, and I double checked, it was extruded.)

In edit mode, select the head of spine base, snap cursor to selected. Select head of hip bone, snap selection to cursor. Shift s should be your snap menu. You don’t actually want these to be “connected”, which has a particular Blender meaning, because connected means the heads are connected to the tail. (And usually, that particular “connected” quality is a bad one anyways.)

Thanks. Yeah, after looking into it, it looks like they were probably never connected and can’t be, and were disconnected upon initial extrusion anyway (as all new attempts to extrude aren’t connected).

Rigging is weird.

Not quite. Extruding from the tail of a bone makes a connected bone. (But again, connected is usually undesirable, at least IMO-- I regularly disconnect all bones via alt p menu.)

Extruding from the tail of a bone makes a connected bone.

Odd, mine won’t do that, for this specific joint. (But I’m not going to spend more time on it though)
