How would one recreate the mirrored look and studio quality of the iphone on the apple website? For example if I wanted to make a suzanne model on the same black surface with a studio quality look. What would the lighting and material setup be like? Any help is greatly appreaciated.
Thanks,
Don.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Here is a quick try. I used a Black world, one area light with an Emitter plane parented to it (to give the white reflections). I gave Suzanne a nice Black mirrored material and set her on a mirrored white plane, that is set to shadeless and has a mirror fall-off to White.
Here is the Blend file: IMonkey.blend (48.4 KB)
To get the studio lighting right, you should copy real life practices. Have one strong light as your main light, a fill light off to the side and a light behind Suzanne. This gives a very realistic studio lighting look.
This is what I mean. I have a spot light in front of her with energy set on 1, a fill light off on the left with .4 energy and a lamp behind her with .5 energy. The spot light has ray shadows. Suzanne has ray mirror on at .5. Hope this helps.
