I had opened one of the blender files which has a python scripting. It was the head pluging. Whenever i open blender again that file opens up as default. I could remove the head, but i couldn’t remove the text area. How do i do that?

do this:
A-key --> Delete-key --> push numpad 7(viewing from Top), --> numpad 5 (for orthographic view) --> CTRL+U (for saving the empty scene as start up)
voila!
look for .B.blend on your system
in windows it should be in the windows directory or possibly
“c:\documents and settings\username\application data
ot a number\blender”
in linux it is your home directory
DELETE IT, it will reset you blender starting settings
then start blender again, you should get the defaults and the splash screen. Press control+u (and confirm) and it will save your defaults again
the way you did this is by pressing control+u and confirm while looking at/editing that file. It saved a copy of it as your blender defaults.
being able to save your user defaults is useful if for example you have scripts you want in all of your new files, or screens you want in them, or materials or… you get the idea.
Ohhh… now i remember i used Ctrl + U to thinking it was undo 
. Silly me
