How to render custom shapes for bones in Blender 2.58?

Is it possible? How do I render a custom shaped bone in Blender 2.58?

Never tried this, but if you want to render the bone shapes, you should be able to duplicate the mesh that is the bone shape in object mode. Move it to the same location as the custom bone shape and parent it to the bone that has the custom shape. Now you should have a new mesh that is a copy of the custom bone mesh and is parented to the bone and will move with the bone as the custom shape would.
