I would like to render hair particles like this sea anemones but I can’t see to get the ‘translucency’ and the glow right? Does any tips or hints or how-to to make effects like this?
Also I want the anemone to grow out a a certain area of a globe i.e. I created a vertex group but where do I tell it grow from the vertex group only? I looked in the physics tab and I don’t see it (blender 2.5).
What would be the best renderer that could render this? I tried it with slg and it didn’t work. Does lux support this?
One lamp center(soft, sized), two opposite hemis(very soft), ramp shader to normal(or blend sphere texture to normal), perhaps SSS, should make a good start !
Thanks guys for all the good tips. I am beginning to see where you guys are coming from. Since I am also new to blender, this is going to be a big learning curve for me but i m really looking forward to it. At least I know where to start searching for it now…
