Hi,
I’m trying to create smoke in a scene, where the domain has to be as wide as the field of view, because I need it to be blown across by a wind force field. Also the smoke emitter is in a car, that is set to collision. I want the smoke to exit trough the windows. I got it right with a relatively small domain. But when I scale it up, the smoke gets clunky and lo-res and it doesn’t fit trough the windows anymore. So it’s actually a big, grey, wobbling chunk of ugly looking smoke inside the car.
I’ve looked up several threads and tuts, but nothing seems to do the trick. No matter if I do the scaling in object mode or alter the domain in edit mode. Nothing makes a difference. I tried ‘applying the scale’ even though I do not exactly no, what that does. But that didn’t help either. I know cranking up the resolution of the smoke would provide more detail, but I end up with insane bake and render times.
I’m on version 2.78 and will try this in 2.79.
Thanks for the help.
