How to scale X + Y but not Z?

This is another thing I’ve never been able to figure out. Let’s say I want to scale an object along its X and Y axis, but not its Z axis, how do I do this? I’ve always just scaled the X first, then the Y, but is there a way to do both at the same time?

press S then shift + z
