How to select remote faces on a complex mesh?

Hello the community and thank you in advance for the help.

On a snowy roof, I would like to select the remote faces : the six faces that are the most apart from one another. I have read the Select Mode page of the manual and did not find anything about it.

On the picture below, I highlighted the X+ and Y+ faces, I did it also for the X-, Y-, Z+ and Z- but it takes time. So my question is :

Does it exist a tip or add-on that select those faces faster ?

My goal is then to create a simplified physics shape, from these remote faces, that will cover the native shape, for a game that needs to have physics enabled.

English is not my native, I apologize for the misspellings, Pierre

One thing you could maybe do is selecting this faces and create a vertex group from the verices. That way you will always have access to them by selecting the vertex group. english is also not my native and hope you can read what i wrote…

Thank you very much Piet  But my first goal is to select easily those remote faces because it takes a lot of time to do it randomly.
