How to send a render layer in cycles with alpha ?

In 2.49 there was this option sky, were if disabled the sky/background was diables, i cannot do this in cycles, i want to just send an object without the sky to the render pass, i see this direct/indirect/color passes, do i have to make a complex mix of all of these to get what i want ?

It’s in Render Properties > Film… I think “Transparency”.

And if i want one layer with transparency and the other with the sky :confused:??? now they are both transparent, i want to have in one the background/sky.

You can make a full copy of your scene and set one to transparent, but you have to render twice.
In compositor you can pick up both scenes. Render in the second scene.
You can even switch to BI if you don´t need cycles for that.

Hi,

The error was in your node setup.
By removing the two red marked nodes in attached image your image is now transparent.
