does anyone know how to rig a model in mikoto? it’s all in japanese, so i can BARELY understand the interface…i don’t know how to set up bones because of the interface as well…i would just animate in blender, but it’s actually ALOT easyier to animate in mikoto. anywho, HELP PLEASE!
There was a thread in off-topic a while back asking what languages everyone knew. Perhaps you could find someone who reads Japanese and PM them?
i guess…alright, i’ll give it a shot. in the meantime, PLEASE KEEP POSTING ANSWERS IN THIS THREAD!..thanks .
Just out of curiosity, what makes Mikoto better at animation than blender? I just mean out of its toolset.

read this tutorial on importing.bvh files into blender from mikoto. this should explain everything about how much easier it is to animate in mikoto rather than blender…the part where it talks about animating in mikoto is near the bottom, so yu’ll have to scroll down the page a little bit in order to find it.
EDIT:In all actuality, i would have just used this tutorial to set up bones, but it only talks about HOW TO ANIMATE IN MIKOTO, not HOW TO RIG A MODEL IN MIKOTO…
So Mikoto’s manipulator widget is always on and you don’t have to press i to set keys. That’s it? That’s the super power of Mikoto? Sounds like Blender’s IPO Key edit mode. I suspect you’re going to be disappointed.
Bones are setup in Metaseq by the use of triangles and naming conventions, which Metaseq file format is .mqo . Mikoto uses that as a bone structure.
For more information on that read this as well.

As a side not, mikoto is easy to animate but its over 3 years old!!! Blender has surpassed this bit of software, so you might want to take the time to use blender instead
Sutabi, i’m no sure if you got my private message or not…did you? it’s been about 3 to 4 days since then, so i’m just wondering if you got the message or not…
Holy crap, that’s the special power? The thing only even supports FK.
