How to Simulate Realistic Lipstick Application on Lips in Blender?

Hi everyone! I’m working on a project in Blender where I need to create a realistic lipstick application effect on a character’s lips. I’ve tried using Dynamic Paint for this, but it didn’t give me the smooth and natural result I’m looking for. The paint turned out patchy, with red and black splotches, and adjusting the brush and canvas settings hasn’t resolved it.I’d love to hear about any methods that can help me achieve a realistic lipstick application effect on lips. Whether it’s with Dynamic Paint (if there’s a way to improve it) or a completely different approach.I’ve attempted Dynamic Paint with the lips as the canvas and the lipstick applicator as the brush. I’ve adjusted resolution, UV mapping, and added a subdivision surface modifier, but it still looks jagged .I’m using Blender 4.2.1 LTS.

Any advice or alternative techniques for achieving a realistic lipstick application effect would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance for any tips you can

I am not sure, but I recall that this topic seemed to be maybe doing something similar to what you want to do, you might want to message the creator on how they did it, I hope this is a help:

Right now, it seems you are using dynamic paint in “vertex” mode. This means you are limited to the number of vertices for your resolution. Have you tried setting the canvas type to “image sequence” instead? This would allow you to actually get a much higher resolution. You might need to make a second UV map where the lips take most of the UV space and select that UV map in the dynamic paint settings (you can select a UV map in the “output” section, next to the bake button) to get the best result.
