Hi! I got one question! Okay, i’ve created a mesh now (a human body), but i got problems with texturing!
My question: Is it possible to “unfold” the mesh easily so its all “flat”? Because i think it should be a lot easier to make textures that way!
I hope somebody understands my question and can help! Thx!
if you are using the latest tuhopuu, or cvs, there are a number of choices for UV unwrap. Go into the UV editor window, then, in the 3D window, select your object and press ‘f’ for face select mode, then press ‘u’ and it gives you some unwrap options. sometimes the auto unwraps don’t work well for certain kinds of meshes, so you have to arrange your object in the 3D window, select the faces you want to unwrap, and choose option ‘from window’, and arrange the UV coords manually to some extent. There are some tuts out there, and i am working on one that describes how to use RVK to aid in this operation. There is also strubis UV unwrap script, and I think another unwrap script as well.
Hey! Thanks a lot modron! But I don’t own cvs or tuhopoo and i don’t know what they are… Maybe you could tell me and where I can download them!
Please also tell me where I can download strubis unwrap script!
ok, to get the experimental build, you have to be a member of blender.org, and you can then download them from the ‘testing builds’ section. strubis unwrapper can be accessed from the ‘infocenter’ on the same site. good luck!
Hey Modron! It’s so great from you that you answer so quickly… But either i am to dumb or the site “testing builds” dont excist anymore! I’ve been looking the whole time but didn’t find the “testing builds” or “infocenter” section!
I’m getting frustrated!
Hey guys! Thanks! Got the tuhopuu build now… But now i’ve got one more question! I downloaded and unpacked the zip file… Then when i click on tuhopuu it opens and it’s exactly like blender(except different splash)! And i still can’t unwrap a mesh the way I want to unwrap it!
Am I doing something wrong? And what’s so special about tuhopuu?!
