how to veiw node texures in veiw port?

Im wondring if node textures can be veiwed on the material in the view port, ive look this up many times in the past few days but theirs no information on it.

Though if i go to the material node and turn it red the plain in the view port turns red.

Ive tried using glsl under texture mode but still nothing.

I simply attach the texture to a dummy cube, hidden away in a normally-disabled layer. The “preview” of a node based texture is not always accurate, in my experience, but “this works okay.”

im not sure how to attach it though.

I’m having the exact same problem. The output node shows the texture correctly, but the 3d view is only showing the diffuse and specular components.

I have no idea what you just said about cubes on hidden layers. It doesn’t seem to make sense. It would be nice if someone could explain this a bit better.

I tried shaded mode and got the texure to show up but it was all messed up, then tried uving it then reapplying it but still looks like faded blury tiles.
