To the naked he looks like Howard Hampton, the ndp leader in Ontario, but in this picture he looks more like a Nubian Pharaoh. Made with Chavant le beau touche and glass eyes courtesy of Modron. Thank you.
Looking good cree.
Thanks, couldn’t have done it without your help. Once I get a bit used to the handling of the material a bit more, I’ll start animating Howie.
I should scrounge up some old tungsten halogen light to see what kind of lighting I can get with that.
Did you know that they use that type of clay to do real life 3d mockup design of cars? Man, that must take a lot of clay.
yes, they have a few other types too, to suit the needs of architects, etc. also, here’s a tip: If it is too sticky, you can use hand lotion to smooth it, and manage the stick factor somewhat.
I’m up here in Northern Ontario and fairly cool in the basement so I don’t find it too sticky unless I press it down to a board. I have a couple of kinds of lotions at home. One of them has aloe and healthy stuff and the other one coconut oil. I’ll have to try each one to see which one is best. So how’s the weather in the big W?
I was talking to the local health unit today and talked about doing a clay video for educational purposes. I was thinking about hand washing hygiene video especially during our flu season up here. This would be volunteer because I have to do community work in order for social assistance to pay for much needed dental work. I don’t mind, it looks good on a resume. Hopefully this will lead to a paying job at some point, and then I can return some favours
That sounds like a fun job. Btw, if you need to pigment the clay, you can do it superficially with powdered chalk dust.
You must be psychic, I was thinking what kind of pigment could be used to colour it. Thanks.
Nice work cree. I like it. It does look like Hampton too.
BTW, where are you in Ontario? I’m in Cambridge.
BgDM
I am 80 km northeast of Timmins, Ontario, where most women look like your avatar hehehehehehe. Looks like drunk girl (Saturday Night Live) got into a scrap
I knew two guys from Cambridge when I went to Guelph U in 1992.
I find it looks like Hampton when I look at the sculpture with my eyes but looks different in the picture taken from a webcam. But I guess you can see it as well.
Thanks
