I’d like to improve this model to use in a final scene I still need to work on, especially his face and legs, but I don’t know what exactly is wrong…no UV mapping (yet), I think I might try giving him some fur. He’s purely from scratch, no reference images.
good modeling, it does need work though id change the face a bit so it doesn’t look like a mad clown. and i think with the fur it would be best if you only put it in a few places rather than all over
nice modeling, i like the horns in particular. with the fur aspect - why not give him furry clothes rather than fur on his body. some really nast hairy clothes would look great on a scaly skin (i think).

the horns are a simple dropish shape, duplicated and then manipulated with a lattice;
as for the fur, I tried both, as hair on his back and shoulders (bufallo style), and as a vest. Tell me what you think!
I also tried to reduce the “angry clown” effect.
Now I really need to light that up a bit…it’s only ambient occlusion, so that won’t be hard, only problem is this stupid old computer…
i like the jacket the best and i agree that some scaly skin would look good, one other thing i think the belly button needs some more detail, with the lighting thing i like the ambient look but are you going to add a background E.G a dungeon scene or a hell scene. i think he will look great with a big club made of rock that looks like it has some slimy moss growing on it “just an idea”, please give use some more detail on what you plan on using this model for.
PS i think you have some great modeling skills keep it up!
gave him some shorts…I was actually gonna have him wading through water towards a sky scraper city…to practise water and architecture…but thee dungeon idea might work better…
I’ll see when I have time to make that club, my Mom and sister wanna go on now.
have a go at rigging him up your self first, if you don’t succeed send me the .blend file and ill have a go at rigging him for you if you want. PS i think the pants are a bit wide at the bottom. good luck with the rigging.
thinkin bout it u could do another version with cracked skin and fire like a balrog. or u could send me the .blend and i cud do it lol. looking good so far tho.
thanks for the file ill start rigging him tomorrow, hopefully ill be finished by Saturday (GTM) as long as nothing crops up. have to work on his name too Hulk2 don’t do him justice. you never know if all 3 of use work on this project we could end up with a really great animated character.
ok…where are we gonna put him?
I don’t really like the hell idea, a little two evil for me :eyebrowlift2:
so probably dungeon, although there’s not that much he can do in there if he’s alone…so I’d say to do the animation we either need to come up with a genius spot for the animation, or we add another character, alone in the dungeon we can probably “only” make a good pic.
PS: friday till about wednesday I’m most likely going to be in france
Sorry!! I meant the wednesday A WEEK LATER! (I was a little mixed up)
Hi just an update on the rigging
Well it’s going well however I have decided to make it a bit more elaborate; hopefully when I am finished we should have full facial control and body control, unfortunately this will take longer to finish so I doubt this will be finished by Saturday but I will try to have it finished for Wednesday when you come back from France. At the moment I am working on the constraints so that animating will be easier.
About the scene I was thinking about incorporating your original idea of walking through water towards a city with the dungeon/ old house in a dark forest. So here’s the idea he starts out from his house ( dungeon/ old house in a dark forest) towards a hi tech modern city surrounded by water; he then takes the lift to the top of a sky scrapper . Whilst in the lift he stands next to a man in a suite who is understandably very scared . He then gets out on the top floor and enters a sort of shop. He then buys something quite cute and cuddly like a teddy bear.
This is just an idea and I’m sure it can be improved upon love to here your comments.
If we do this I would like to make it quite funny and visually stunning especially the cityscape.
Ill post again on Sunday with an update on the rigging.
wow…nice idea…a LOT of work, but an AWESOME videoclip…I can’t wait.
that way we get severall very interesting scenes…hihi, can’t wait to see him in an elevator with a buisness man
Edit: I’ll start with the sky scrapers. I’m not as good at foresty dungeony stuff.
Edit: maybe like this? I guess it depends on how realistic we want it, but the monster isn’t too cartoony so I guess this is about how it should look…the background ones can be simple and duplicated a lot, and a lot can just be images…oh well, we’ll see.
a bit more futuristic would be nice plus that pics not really the right perspective but yes i agree about duplicating the buildings at the back, maybe make 3-4 different ones for the back duplicate but have them different sizes. I’m thinking we make the city full of tall building and have a vast lake in front and on the other side of the lake we have th forest, now I’ve thought of a reason why “hulk” has to wade through the water, i was thinking that at the edge of the forest we have a transport platform with a sign that say something like step on for transport to the city, but when hulk steps on he makes the platform sink and breaks because he is to big there for he has to walk.“just an idea”
for the lake i thought to save work we can just use textures for most of it but have a fluid Sim for when he enters and exits the water.
“i have sent you a private message please read”!!!
any way i have Nealy completed the rig for hulk should be done soon.
