The model is an older one of mine but I wanted to revisit the shading and lighting setups.
Project was done completely using Blender. Colour correction done with PhotoShop.
Let me know what you think!
Can’t see an image… did you attach it?
They show up on my desktop, yes they are attached. I’ll try reattaching them if it continues to have problems
Looks really good, especially through the center of the face where the lighting is balanced. The shading on the nose especially looks great to me.
There’s a crinkly bump map that seems too strong. It’s most visible along his right side where the rim light fades into shadow. Look above his right eyebrow. It’s also visible down on his neck and on his forehead near the hair line. I’d dial that back a bit, and maybe randomize the direction slightly?
There’s something distracting about the area under his left eye. I think it may just need a bit darker diffuse color painted on the skin under and around the eye. Maybe the SSS is too strong, too.
There’s a dark reddish smudge on the forehead on his right side. It looks OK, if a little too dark, in the black-and-white render, but it is distracting in color. I can’t tell why it’s shading that way!
I’m a rank beginner, so please take this with a grain of salt. Your render looks great!
Impressive. I love the texture of your figure.
