Humanoid/Hulk

here is a character im working on. im still farily new to blender and i have a couple glitches in this render like the opening at the bottom of the model. I’m really going of after a hulk/muscular creature and plan to rig and stuff. I want to get into more getting more realistic texturse for the skin as i have only used procedural textures so far.

I think that hole is because the subsurf modifier is under the mirror.
Atm it looks like a gorilla, but I won’t criticise just yet.
Is it going to be a full character or a bust?
