Hw do I remove all textures/materials from an object and show the UV grid?

Hi, I have an object with materials and textures applied. The object also is unwrapped. I want to remove all the materials and textures and start again with just the test grid.

I can’t get rid of the old texture in the viewport, if I render I do see the UV grid.

Uhm, if I understood what you’re asking, switch to Object Mode, go to Materials and selecting the mesh, click on the - sign on the right. Does it solve your problem?

From what I can tell I have removed all meterials and textures but the material is still visible in the viewport, I already know how to show the test grid I don’t need that explaining, I have set it up correctly, it’s that Blender won’t stop showing the previous material unless I render.

So somehow Blender’s got alittle confused about what it should be showing me.

Any ideas?

No it doesn’t, I already did that. It must be a bug.
