Hi everyone,
I’m looking to “hire” a competent Blender modeler for a small project.
What I need is fairly simple for probably someone fairly competent with Blender. I do a webcomic in which I have various characters. What I would like to have is a 3D model of some of these characters so I can use them as drawing references. That means the models do not have to be highly detailed or textured.
They need very basic rigs (and I do mean basic) so that they can be posed. They won’t be animated so all I need to be able to do is pose them how I want to draw them.
There are 4 characters I’d like modeled. In order of importance they are:
“She-Who-Hears” - the orange character in the last panel of this strip 105,
“The Warder” (A generic “Dark One” basically), the orange guy in strip 100,
“Ugo” - the green guy, who would work for me as a model for all similar bodied martians in strip 92
“Asimov” - the Robot, a good shot in 87 but in a majority of the strips. All can be seen in my comic in my sig.
I need the first two most, since I have the most trouble drawing them. But I eventually want all four.
So, what can I offer in return? Not much in the way of cash, unfortunately - a mere $25 just to have something in your pocket. In addition, I can offer you promotion of your own work. Marooned is somewhat popular in Webcomic circles. I took 3rd in last year’s Webcomic Idol competition and I pull in 13-14,000 visitors a month, with pageviews around 1-2k on update days. My readers have common interests in me along the lines of animation and film as well as comics.
I would also be willing to offer up some original artwork from a strip of your choosing (if it’s still available). These are uncolored/scripted pencils and inks on Bristol board of the strips. Their actual worth is probably somewhere in the $35-$75 range.
Please be aware that you would have to sign a contract stating that the models will be solely my property - not yours - although you could use them to show as promo work of course. All these characters are under my copyright.
Ideally, I’d like to build a relationship with an artist who can help me out with Marooned projects. In addition to the characters, I will also want other things, including a layout of a certain Martian sanctuary, ships, stuff like that.
If you are interested, please leave a link here to your portfolio showing your modeling work. I prefer that you have some experience behind you. I’d rather not work with beginners, and I must insist you are 18 or over.
If you have any questions, post them here so I can answer for all. Thanks for looking!
Tom
But I did see your post at cgsociety, so I’m reposting your links here:
That helps!
