I am running out of memory very quickly?

Hello

I have an issue with my laptop i run out of memory very quickly, I have done more heavy and complex scene on my laptop. But now only with one couch i run out of memory. Do you know what might be the reason for this. Can it be that i have done a lot of renders before and now somehow it has lost its power

replace the couch with a similar object and render it in the same scene. If it fixes the problem you’ll know it’s an issue with the couch object.

Did you used the original blender render cartridges and no substitute product ? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Jokes aside: If you

…then if really only using a couch then it is properly using by far too much polygons. Other possibility: you are using also a very high resolution HDRI or some other effects like volume light ?? We do not really know because you told nothing more about you scene than the couch.

On the other hand if you meant: “with only adding one couch” then your scen might have reached the limit of the VRAM ?? (If not using the CPU for render…)

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer. For example telling what render engine you use or giving some computer specs.

Check your texture size, they tend to use the most RAM or VRAM depending what you’re using to render.

How much RAM do you have, also if you could put a link to the Blender file you are mentioning I can take a look.

Even if there is only one sofa, it can be stuttering if you use a high amount of polygon for that sofa or if a high resolution image is used.
Alternatively, if it is an object created from outside, there may be an error that makes it difficult to know the cause.

I don’t know the exact problem because I don’t know the current status.

Or it could be a problem with the graphics driver.
This is resolved by reinstalling the graphics driver

Same person but in different account

I have removed all of my textures and the couch it has a lot of subdivisions because i want to use displacement map rather then normal.
But the problem is i have done a lot more heavy and complex scene, i had no issue, now only this high poly couch shuts down blender instantly

So… maybe you or your other you just tell how much faces your (or other your) couch-only scene does have and also how much you (or other you) have supdivided it. You (or other you) know in cycles there is also a adaptive subdiv feature… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

( or how much VRAM “the system” does have… ? )

Are you using adaptive subdivision? You should if you aren’t, it will help get the detail needed at a lower cost.

If you are already using it, make sure you aren’t also using regular subdivision levels at the same time. There is a UI problem where both types of subdivision will get used together even after you have switched to adaptive mode. Switch back to regular subdivision, set the levels to 0, then switch back to adaptive.

I just formatted my laptop and now things work fine. Because i know i have done more complex scene high poly things were working fine, on this issue just with a simple couch i was running out of my memory. Since i have formatted my laptop things work fine, maybe i have had and hidden working apps behind
