I call him Richard the alien( my attempt at character animating)

he was pretty much ok after this; n plz comment i need to improve.

Ok, that’s a good start. Is your interest in the character itself, or are you just wanting to be an animator? I would suggest finding a good character rig made by an experienced person and learning how to control it. There are quite a few free rigs available. I highly recommend the Cookie FlexRig which you can get from BlendSwap.

Once you get the hang of animation, you could then apply what you learn from an advanced rig to your own designs.

I am very interested in animating and vfx i heard abt the rigs just i wanted to be independent and do therigging myself but i will start using the rigs thanks alot for the input. I appreciate it

It is a good thing to understand rigging, modeling, materials, rendering, etc. Keep learning about those things. In order to learn animation, you probably should start with someone else’s well made character rig just so you know how the ‘Professional’ animators work. A lot of work goes into a rig like the Cookie Flexrig, so beginning animators like you and me can know the joys of bringing a character to life without a long process of building something from scratch. There are animators who never build their own characters and rigs, but they are excellent animators because that is what they spend most of their time doing. Hope that helps!

love the animation!! reminds me of the old fashioned “claymation” stuff
learn everything you can but don’t lose your own style
all the GREATS did it “wrong” at least once

Ha! That’s funny!

I can see that you relly got the passion to be a pro animator.
