I can't find a way to see through the mesh while weight panting

I used to know how to do this but been having trouble with it ever since 2.8
I want to make it so I can see the other vertices on the other side of the mesh while weight painting. I got it so I can paint one side and it will paint the other too. However, The x-ray and transparent views don’t work as they used to before 2.8. How do I get this to work?

So that when painting the front side also the back gets the weighting, right?!
Change the fallofshape for each brush

I guess I need to be more specific. I have already figured out how to paint through the mesh. What I am having trouble with is getting the wire frame of the mesh to show up in weight painting so I can see exactly where I am painting on the other side of the mesh?

I had already suspected,
Unfortunately, I have no solution for this,
Maybe a workaround, If no one knows or can’t solve it.
For the one side create a mask modifier,
And the visibility then put on a quickkey to turn on / off!

Would probably also only make sense in the front view
