I can't get the front of the violin like the reference

Hii guys i’m try to make the front of the violin like this one but i can’t get the smooth curve at the edge of the violin. ( i drew a small blue line to indicate the part)

that’s my result:

I don’t really know what i’m getting wrong because this is like the third iteration and i think that i’m doing the same mistake over and over but i don’t know how to fix it

That’s my mesh if you want to give a closer look
TryMainBodyViolinblend.blend (2.6 MB)

Hi, hard surface modelling is not my strongest side but you could use images of other models wireframe as reference:
like this one:

can you link me the link of this violin?

fdfdh

The outer shape of the violin should remain inward, as shown in the example image.

Add…

dsfsd.blend (272.8 KB)

Unorganized modeling file.

One trick is to extrude the middle line of the inner faces (and maybe make a copy; see later) and extrude them over the mirror axis and then make one big n-gon ( → F) and inset this to get some “border belt”. You may have to play with the options… and depending on the model this may give not the wanted result in the first trial… but at leasdt a “base” for some inner polygon “array” /belt arround the border you can play with… (the mention extrussion has to be deleted; it’s for a “clean” belt) and the inner grid re-built maybe using the copy).

can you pass me the blend file of this so i can study it better?

Oh… i didn’t saved this… simply do as i said

( By the way: if compressed this is only TryMainBodyViolinblend2.blend (321.2 KB) instead of 2.6 MiB :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

i’ve done it and i achived a pretty good look
