I’m on 2.92, new to Blender and i can’t reorganise, rearrange the objects on Outliner. I have ticked off ‘sort alphabetically’ but nothing. I drag objects within my collection to move them around.
I mean…is this even possible, quite a basic feature!

That is not possible to order object by drag and drop.
Disabling alphabetical sorting is just enabling sorting according to their order of creation.
It is better to keep alphabetical sorting and to rename object with a prefix.
…and to add to previous answer: Use Collections… you can rearrange those all you want.

Thanks for posting this, this should be possible. After getting used to Blender, you overlook things like this.
