I have a weird selection thing going on, if I use anything other than the tweak selection, the selection highlights multiple objects behind the facing object, even though x-ray mode is not enabled.
Have I switched some thing on by mistake?
Basically I’m trying to select multiple lats on the structure shown and for this dragging a box selection down a column of lats, but it also selects whats behind.
Maybe you just dont show the content of the 3D-View but the whole screen? So that maybe someone can see what’s wrongly switched on?
And you are not showing Solid Mode but Rendered…
I just tried it out by placing two cubes behind each other, switching to front orthographic view in solid viewmode so that the second cube isn’t visible at all. If I box select the first cube, the second gets selected as well even though I’m not seeing it. If I circle select the first cube, the second one also get’s selected.
Edit: Maybe make the selection using the outliner or disable the selectability of the items you don’t want (also in the outliner). This may not be a good method since you have so many objects though.
I’m still wondering if there is a smart option somewhere that disables selectability of objects which are behind other objects relative to view. If not, this should definitely be an option. Seems to be a pretty smart thing to implement imo.
So after some research this is standard.
I just can’t believe, I never come across before.
My problem is that model is imported from sketchup and there no individual groups to switch off.
Just one collection with everything!!
Yes we need a select only view visable mode.
Well it looks like I’m not going to bed tonight as the client need this first thing in the morning.
Thanks for everyones help
