I know this is a stupid question with an easy answer, but...

I’ve been using Blender for a long time, but I only recently started using it again after a break, and I’ve forgotten how to group objects temporarily and ungroup them… help?

In object mode select the objects and Ctrl J. To separate, in edit mode select the vertices Ctrl P.

Erm, there’s no way to just group them without joining them? I thought there was.

Parent and child. the children are in a group with the parent. Unparenting removes the child object from the group.

Thanks very much!

And then of course, there’s this little-known part of Blender 2.42:

http://blender.org/cms/Object_Groups.755.0.html

I haven’t tried it but it offers a new approach to solving some problems.
