I need help creating a rigid arm rig.

I have been testing many ways, but I am nowhere closer to the solution.

I am rigging an arm that is a .4 by .4 by 1.2 box. Simple?

Currently, It only does a smooth bend when the bone is rotated. Or, when I edited the mesh, I can get one side (back) to be rigid, while the inside (front) joint pushes inwards toward the elbow. What I am looking for is a rigid joint in the middle. As if there were two edges there that will not move. The only part that moves is the upper and lower sections, but I do not want them to be deformed in a slopping or smooth manner.
