Hi all,
I’m stuck with my upcoming entry for the WC contset of this week (No.65).
I’m working in the sequence editor to add my still pictures with alpha channel. Now, the problem is I can’t seem to have more than two pictures at once.
First I add my background picture (tga without alpha).
Then I add my second (tga with alpha)
Then I select both (background then 2nd layer) and insert “alpha over”
It works until here.
Then I add a third picture (targa with alpha) and select the 2nd layer, then the 3rd (the new picture). Once again, I insert “alpha over”.
When I render it, only the two targa with alpha are displayed and the background image is replaced by a black background.
What should I do?
Please help me as soon as possible. I don’t want to miss the WC just because of a technical issue.

You have to do ‘shiftA’ add>> cross(with both strips selected). Though it sounds as if maybe you already did that? Oh, and once you’ve done that, you can do ‘M’ for ‘make metastrip’, which will make it easier to manage. There’s a way to unpack the metastrip too, though it escapes me at the moment. Oh, and hey,…If you can’t get to b@rts sequence editor tut (i heard it was down) I have the whole HTML file, and would be happy to post it for you.
I dunno wether Cross is not what I need or I’m too styewpid to use it.
It seems to merge the two layers with transparency. I don’t think it’s what I need. Actualy I want my image to be visible except from the alpha parts which are determined by the world in my original blender file.
It works well when I use two images, but looks like crap when I add a third.

Maybe the ‘ADD’ effect would work?
I think the problem is that when you add the third picture, you are selecting the second picture and the third picture, you should be selecting the alphaover and the third picture.
