i need the 2.49b version for win7

i got to http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.49b/
but had no idea what to do next!
i have a blender.exe file but how do i install it?
i updated the computer to win7/64 from vista 64.

Well, i would try this web site : http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-249/

Click on the link in the upper right. See if that works… Doesn’t say if it’s 64 bit, but might work

What happens when you double click the .exe file?

I have a 2.48 version on my flash drive & it works well on three computers I tried. It’s kind of slow, but I wouldn’t delete it for all the gold in the world.

clicking on the exe file does start the file okay- thanks
