I need to use .MTS files in blender. How do I do that?

I can’t find any free converts, and Sony, being the heartless corporation it is, stranded me with a ton of useless video files because I won’t buy their video editor.

(I want to convert it to an image sequence)

This is really important for me.

free converts

I tried both of those already and they’re not free.

Try a google search or looking at SourceForge.

OH THANKS!
I hadn’t just googled for an hour I’m so glad you told me about this google thing!

Doesn’t help does it? If it works, there are many wmv converters out there. Probably doesn’t help if you don’t use windows though.

I should add I’m recording in 1080p, 60 FPS. WMV doesn’t even support high res, I believe.

Have you tried importing the video files into blender? Also are you sure your mpeg4 files are 60fps 1080P and not 1080i? 60fps at 1080P is pretty good out of what is probably a consumer camera.

Yes, you smug little excuse-for-a-joke, I’m certain it’s 1080p, I know my own goddamn camera.

And all blender does is freeze. Wow, amazing.

Edit:
I solved this, after a few hours of trial and error. Thanks for nothing.

How did you solve it???

MTS seems to be AVCHD, and AVCHD is supported by VLC player. Which can be used to convert stuff.

So I guess googling helped in the end.

Like your attitude, I wasn’t being smug your ignorant f–ker, your posting in Other Software asking for a converter with no reason as to why, no error messages with blender or more precisely an issue with ffmpeg.

No one owes you a thing, just move on.

Really, you usually can find what you need of you do a google search and actually go through the listings it brings up. Also, check Sourceforge and other open source websites.

And… locked.
