I regret updating to 2.9

I’m not asking for tech support, I’m just ranting.
Ever since updating to 2.9 and doing a bunch of work, everything seems to crash a bit more. Memory is allocated much more poorly and what I used to be able to run on my GPU before, I must run on my CPU now.

And worst of all… reverting back to 2.78 renders a few of my files unfunctional.

I love blender, but I feel like this was a disaster and I wish I’d just stayed with 2.78 for my projects.

2.8+ has a lot of really promising features. But in terms of stability, blah.

Thanks for letting me rant lel, cheers!

You have heard the adage, “Don’t change horses mid stream!”
Or, “Leave with who ya come with!”

Never use the upgrade on a project. Standard practice.

Use your backups Gripes have a nagging persistence at tearing down your resolve.

But that was Long Time Support is for.

Either dont upgrade mid project, or use 2.83 LTS

while we ranting, do anyone get super slow add objects? Like changing circles sides count, blender lags for a second or two, in every 2.8x release. One time even crashed
