When it comes to transparent object lighting i kinda always get confused how it’s supposed to look like for example in this shot there’s 2 area lights from left and right but the cork region already looks chaotic and i’m not sure if that’s okay or bad. Something like beer bottles is alot easier to light.
Guess it depends a whole lot on what you’re aiming at. Is this a physically-accurate depiction of a bottle of tequila? Not particularly. But, is it an image that might make me want to buy it? Maybe yes!
Yeah, I’m not seeing what’s so bad about your lighting. It looks pretty good to me.
I think this is super cool - The only thing I can offer is the contrasting lines in the background are competing with the bottle a little bit.
Thanks, after further checking the render of mine and comparing to others imo i just overdid the lighting a bit and there’s too much going on and looks bit odd w/ that cloth overall, I’ve found that the less lights are used the better it looks but also gets alot harder to tweak/gradient the lights and reveal the logos etc if needed.
In my Setup initially the client wanted a red/yellow background which i’ve found alot more challenging than expected due to losing the tequila color which was limiting my options sort of + it’s quite complex clear glass bottle so it makes even more challenging.
What you’ve got right now looks like airbrushing, which of course is a classic advertising technique. This image would be entirely at home in a full-page printed advertisement.
