i want to export a poser 7 project and render in blender - is that possible

Hi all i want to export a poser project out of poser and import into blender for rendering - is it possible?:o
I could export character into blender then add the bvh motion to it in blender - thats fine but i have a mimic pro lip synch motion that i want on the character - anyone know what i can do?
Can i export a whole project model with animations etc out of poser and import to blender.

I dont think so. I know you can export the model itself, though I wouldnt recommend it. Last time I tried importing a poser model into blender I wound up with 1) a model with over 30,000 polygons, and 2) split by individual material names so I had like over a hundred different meshs to join together…

indeed…in the past that was not even legal… Poser used to have in their terms you could use any thing 2d, rendered inside Poser…not use object meshes outside…or wait…that could be just if used for comercial purposes(that included using the meshes in games, for example if used as 3d mesh)… well i just say in case you wanna dig the real state of things in that matter, at this very moment…

I checked with the makers of Poser. You can export meshes and render them out in other packages. That is not a legal problem. You just can’t repackage the meshes and sell them (like in a game).

There is no Poser2Blender workpath (yet). You can export the BVH files from Poser and import them back into Blender as a skeleton, but you have to re-rig and re-texture everything.

I did a simple import and rigging of the Zot character available from Daz3D.

Also, a note on retexturing. It is not that hard, especially if you use the textures already provided from the original Poser mesh.
