Hello, everyone I been using blender for a while (few months) I have mad some progress and even got to create some characters, but now I need some help. I’s not a difficult task either for everyone here, but I need help making eyes for a character or two. I also have pictures of my progress.
Well, I did, but the tutorials I got were all speed lapsed and was too fast to see.
Honestly, whoever thought of speeding up tutorials, or just generally speeding up the video(s), must really dislike people learning.
What kind of look are you going for? Did you have any reference in mind when modeling?
Have you tried using a simple sphere? If so did it clip through the face?
Rather than putting them in later, it’s better to work with the eyeballs in place, as you build around them. It’ll give you a clearer idea of the how the face and eyelids make contact with them.
It looks like you just need to add some eye lids. Atm the eye is just going through the mesh, add some eye lids, and it will add a visible barrier between the face and the eyes.
To my experience, the eye area of the head needs to be modelled with eye-objects floating on the same place they will be in the final head. On some characters eyes are not round or the not the same size, so they need to be there. It is much harder to add eyes after the head is done.
But, you can add the eyes, and then adjust the head around the eye area. It’s harder yes, but the only solution. And you need geometry for the eyelids. How much or any, it depends of your style.
It looks like you have a style going here that is close to anime. I would recommend looking up some tuts from Daniel kreuter. Many of his characters have an anime style and he does a good job of explaining as he goes. Keep it up!
jdover I chack out Daniel kreuter liked you asked and I think I see how he is doing his character faces but I would need a more in depth studyI’ll post my findings when I find time.
